Basic information about applying for Malaysia My Second Home.

1. What is Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H)?
MM2H is a Malaysian Government programme offering eligible foreigners a renewable long-term social visit pass with multiple entry.
2. Who can apply for MM2H?
Eligible foreigners from countries with diplomatic relations with Malaysia may apply, subject to the relevant category requirements.
3. What is the minimum age to apply?
The minimum age is 25 for Silver, Gold and Platinum, and 21 for the SEZ/SFZ category.
4. Do I need to apply through a licensed MM2H agent?
Yes. New applications must be handled through an MM2H operator licensed by MOTAC.
5. Is MM2H a Permanent Residency (PR) programme?
No. MM2H does not provide Malaysian Permanent Residency or citizenship.
6. Is offshore income still required for MM2H?
No. The previous offshore income requirement has been abolished under the current programme.
7. Do I need a Police Clearance or Letter of Good Conduct?
Yes. Applicable applicants are required to provide the required Police Clearance or Letter of Good Conduct.
8. Must foreign-language documents be translated?
Yes. Required documents not in English or Bahasa Malaysia generally require certified translation.

USD 150,000.

Yes. Up to 50% of the principal fixed deposit may be withdrawn for approved purposes, subject to the applicable MM2H requirements.
26. What can the 50% fixed deposit withdrawal be used for?
Approved purposes may include property purchase, education, medical expenses and other purposes permitted under the current MM2H rules.

MM2H Property Requirements

27. Is property purchase compulsory under MM2H?
Yes. Under the current federal MM2H programme, a qualifying residential property purchase is required.
28. What is the minimum property value for Silver?
The federal MM2H minimum is RM600,000, subject to the applicable state property requirements.
29. What is the minimum property value for Gold?
RM1,000,000 or above, subject to the applicable state property requirements.
30. What is the minimum property value for Platinum?
RM2,000,000 or above, subject to the applicable state property requirements.
31. Where must SEZ MM2H applicants purchase property?
The current SEZ/SFZ programme requires a qualifying property in Forest City, Johor.
32. Can SEZ applicants buy a resale property?
The qualifying SEZ/SFZ property is currently required to be purchased directly from the developer.
33. Can I sell my qualifying MM2H property during the first 10 years?
Generally no, except where permitted under the applicable rules for upgrading to a higher-value residential property.
34. Can I upgrade to another property?
Yes, subject to the applicable MM2H requirements for upgrading to a higher-value property.

35. Can I include my spouse?
Yes. An eligible spouse may be included as a dependant.
36. Can I include my children?
Yes. Eligible biological children, stepchildren and adopted children may be included.
37. Can children aged 21 to 34 be included?
Yes, provided they meet the applicable dependant requirements, including the relevant marital and employment conditions.
38. Can an eligible disabled child over age 34 be included?
A medically certified disabled child may be considered subject to the applicable MM2H requirements.
39. Can parents and parents-in-law be included?
Yes. Eligible parents and parents-in-law may be included as dependants.
40. Can I include a foreign maid?
The current federal MM2H programme provides for a foreign maid under the Platinum category, subject to the applicable requirements.

Stay Requirement, Visa & Renewal

41. Is there a 90-day annual stay requirement?
Yes. Participants below age 50 are subject to a 90-day cumulative annual stay requirement under the current federal MM2H rules.
42. Do participants aged 50 or above have a minimum annual stay requirement?
Under the current federal MM2H rules, participants aged 50 or above are exempt from the minimum annual stay requirement.
43. Can registered family members help fulfil the 90-day requirement?
Yes. Where applicable, the required days may be fulfilled cumulatively by the principal applicant and registered dependants.
44. Is MM2H a multiple-entry pass?
Yes. MM2H provides long-term residence with multiple-entry privileges, subject to the applicable pass conditions.
45. What happens if my passport expires before my MM2H entitlement?
The MM2H visa or remaining validity may need to be transferred to the new passport according to the applicable Immigration procedure.
46. Is the MM2H visa endorsement generally handled every five years?
Generally, endorsement is handled according to the applicable five-year period and passport validity within the approved programme term.
47. Are Immigration fees charged for MM2H renewal or endorsement?
Yes. Applicable pass and visa fees are charged according to the current Immigration and MM2H requirements.
48. Can MM2H be renewed after the full programme term ends?
